Guinness once again electrified football fans with its Epic Match Day Football Viewing on November 30th, attracting large crowds at Landmark Event Centre in Owerri and Papiee’s Meatro, Jahi Express in Abuja.
The event combined live Premier League action, ice-cold Guinness, and high-energy entertainment, reinforcing Guinness as a leading brand in football viewing experiences in Nigeria.
The Match Day platform, designed to elevate the football-watching experience, features big screens, music, social interaction, and interactive games such as Predict & Win, allowing fans to enjoy football in a lively, communal atmosphere.
On the night, fans watched Chelsea vs Arsenal, West Ham vs Liverpool, and Crystal Palace vs Manchester United.
- Owerri drew over 1,500 football enthusiasts at Landmark Event Centre. DJs Alonso, Samzee, Hype Lady SUO, and Bella Okagbue energized the crowd before kick-off. Fans enjoyed free Guinness Foreign Extra Stout and Guinness Smooth, alongside Predict & Win competitions to win packs of Guinness.
- Abuja matched the intensity, with host Yubby, supported by Fisayo and Koyin Sanusi, keeping the programme engaging. Influencers across both cities amplified conversations online, while guests captured and shared the experience across social media.
Fans also participated in fun activities between matches, including a trivia challenge where the winner received a 55-inch Hisense TV, celebrated by the entire crowd.
Ife Odedere, Category Lead and Senior Brand Manager, Guinness Trademark, said the initiative demonstrates the brand’s commitment to enhancing football culture in Nigeria. He explained that the platform offers more than match viewing—it delivers premium entertainment, bold flavour, and a social experience that keeps fans engaged from start to finish.
The positive feedback from Abuja and Owerri sets the stage for the next Guinness Epic Match Day, leaving fans eager to know which city will host the next event.
