Investigative news platform HumAngle says its website was targeted in a suspected cyberattack shortly after publishing an exposé on the late Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau.
The newsroom described the timing as “highly suspicious,” suggesting a deliberate attempt to silence independent reporting. HumAngle, renowned for investigations into terrorism, military operations, and human rights abuses, said its technical team is working urgently to restore access and strengthen security.
Despite the disruption, the organisation vowed to continue fearless, meticulous reporting, noting that the exposé sheds new light on Shekau’s reign and Boko Haram’s internal dynamics.
