Israel Opens Fire on Suspected Gaza Intruders; Six Palestinians Killed

Israel’s military reported that it opened fire on Tuesday to neutralize a perceived threat from suspects who approached its forces in northern Gaza. Gaza’s health authorities confirmed that at least six Palestinians were killed in the incidents.

The military stated that the suspects had crossed a boundary established during Israel’s initial pullback under the U.S.-brokered ceasefire, in violation of the agreement. The fatalities occurred in two separate locations across the enclave.

This comes one day after Hamas released the last living Israeli hostages held in Gaza, while Israel repatriated busloads of Palestinian detainees as part of the ceasefire deal. U.S. President Donald Trump declared the two-year-long conflict—which caused widespread destruction in Gaza and destabilized the region—officially over.
