Nollywood actress Bolaji Ogunmola has expressed deep frustration after being stranded at the Ekiti State airport for over 24 hours due to repeated flight delays, an ordeal she says disrupted the opening day of her new ₦20 million film production.
In an emotional video shared on Instagram, the actress revealed that the delays began on Wednesday, leaving her unable to join her production team in Lagos as scheduled.
A visibly distressed Ogunmola explained that filming had already commenced, with actors, crew members, restaurant bookings, and paid locations all waiting for her presence on set.
“I’m still at the airport, and I’ve cried my eyes out this morning. I’m supposed to be on set. It’s the first day of TOC’s production. I booked actors, a restaurant, everything. I’ve spent between ₦15 to ₦20 million trying to produce this film, and I’m still here,” she said.
According to the actress, she checked in for her flight on Wednesday, only to be informed that it had been delayed. Hours later, the airline cancelled the flight without offering alternative arrangements, forcing her to spend the night in a motel.
She returned to the airport early Thursday morning with hopes of boarding the rescheduled flight, but the situation only worsened.
“They said the flight would be by 8 a.m. I woke up by 5 a.m. and got here at 6:30. Then it changed to 9:30, later to 12, and now they’re saying 5:30,” she lamented.
Ogunmola said the most painful part of the experience was not just the delay, but the airline’s lack of clear communication, which left her entire production team stranded and uncertain.
“My crew and production team are already at work today. This isn’t just my time they’re playing with—this is my livelihood. Everyone just keeps saying ‘sorry.’ What am I supposed to do? I’m literally stuck here,” she added.
With losses mounting and no clear resolution in sight, the actress disclosed that she had no choice but to travel by road to Lagos, despite safety concerns.
“I’ll have to go by road, which is very unsafe, but I need to get to work. My lawyers will handle this. I just needed evidence of what’s happening. They’re not remorseful. This is unfair,” she said.
Ogunmola clarified that the video was recorded strictly for documentation and legal purposes, not to stir public outrage.
“I’m not the type to call people out or shout. I just need evidence of what is going on,” she concluded.
