Jennifer Lawrence is starting 2026 with a bold new look and exciting updates on her latest film. The 35-year-old Oscar-winning actress debuted brow-grazing bangs while attending a conversation with Josh Horowitz at 92NY in New York City on January 7, showcasing her signature blonde hair styled sleek and straight.
Lawrence paired her chic hairstyle with a black mock-neck halter top and tailored black trousers by Jessica McCormack, adding pointed-toe black pumps and minimalist drop earrings to complete the ensemble. Her fresh bangs framed her face perfectly, marking a stylish start to the new year and a fresh chapter in her public image.
Jennifer Lawrence’s New Red Carpet Look
This appearance marks Lawrence’s first major public outing of 2026. Her previous red carpet moment was at the 2025 Gotham Awards in New York City on December 1, 2025, where she wore a sleek cropped Christian Dior blazer and high-slit skirt. The Gotham Awards also saw Lawrence earning a nomination for Outstanding Lead Performance for her work alongside Ethan Hawke, Jessie Buckley, Tessa Thompson, Rose Byrne, and Josh O’Connor in One Battle After Another.
Fans and style watchers alike have praised Lawrence for her versatile fashion sense, and her bangs debut continues to cement her reputation as a trendsetter on and off the red carpet.
Discussing ‘Die My Love’ and Acting Challenges
During her conversation at 92NY, Lawrence opened up about her experiences filming her latest movie, Die My Love, directed by Lynne Ramsay. The drama follows her character, Grace, a writer and young mother slowly slipping into madness after moving from New York to rural Montana. The film explores Grace’s increasingly erratic behavior and the strain it places on her companion, Jackson, played by Robert Pattinson.
Lawrence revealed she experiences “anxiety” before filming, particularly when shooting intimate or challenging scenes. She described a scene referred to as the “naked sex tiger” sequence with Pattinson, explaining that it was easier to film with someone she didn’t know personally:
“It was actually easier that way because Rob and I did not know each other, which is kind of better, you know?”
She compared the experience to her Hunger Games days, joking: “Like me and Josh Hutcherson would have to kiss, and that’s like… imagine it. It’s weirder, so yeah, doing it with a stranger is preferable.”
Preparing for Challenging Scenes
Lawrence also shared that filming these scenes can be “very embarrassing,” especially the moments in which she and Pattinson act like tigers. To prepare, the pair participated in interpretive dance lessons, which Lawrence described as mortifying but ultimately helpful in easing them into the physicality of the scene:
“We got to Calgary like three weeks before we started shooting. Rob and I both [are] embarrassed very easily, and that was mortifying… by the time she was like, ‘Yeah, get naked,’ we were just kind of like, ‘Okay, at least it’s not interpretive dance…’”
Her candidness highlights her authentic and humorous approach to tackling challenging roles and intense preparation.
A Stylish Start to the Year
With her new bangs and a successful career full of transformative roles, Jennifer Lawrence continues to combine bold fashion choices with fearless acting. Her red carpet presence and thoughtful discussion about Die My Love demonstrate her ongoing commitment to her craft, while also signaling a stylish and confident start to 2026.
