Jessie J Shares Frustration After Second Breast Cancer Surgery Postponed

British pop star Jessie J recently opened up about the postponement of her second breast cancer surgery, describing the delay as “frustrating” after she had already canceled her U.S. tour for the procedure.

The singer shared the news in a heartfelt Instagram video on Monday, October 27, 2025. Jessie J explained that she had initially planned to undergo the second surgery two weeks prior, but consultations with her surgeons revealed differing opinions on the timing.

“Some of you may know, some of you may not know, I was supposed to have a second breast surgery two weeks ago,” Jessie J said. “A week before my surgery, I went to my surgeon, and we discussed my procedure. It felt a little more complex than anticipated, so I was referred to a different surgeon, who then said: ‘I think this can wait a little while.’”

Despite the understandable frustration, Jessie J emphasized that the situation was beyond her control. “Obviously, I’d already cancelled my tour so I was obviously frustrated, but again it’s out of my control, and two different surgeons had two different opinions,” she added.

Rebooking Tour Dates

Jessie J reassured fans that she is now able to reschedule her U.S. and Canada tour dates, with performances set to kick off in January 2026. She humorously referred to her ongoing recovery, mentioning her “wonky tits,” but maintained a positive attitude about returning to the stage and connecting with her fans.

The pop star first shared her breast cancer diagnosis in June 2025, expressing her desire to be open about her health journey. “One, because selfishly, I do not talk about it enough. I also know how much sharing has helped me with other people giving me their love and support and also their own stories,” she said.

After undergoing her initial surgery, Jessie J reported that the cancer was “all gone,” and she made an emotional return to performing last month. On September 6, 2025, she appeared at the BBC Radio 2 In the Park festival in Chelmsford, England, with her 2-year-old son, Sky Safir, watching from the audience.

During the performance, Jessie J reflected on her ongoing recovery, saying: “I had breast cancer surgery 11 weeks ago today. I’m still very much in the recovery process, but I’m so grateful to be here.” She added that the experience of performing again felt like reconnecting with her childhood love of music: “It truly feels like I’m a little kid, still doing what I love.”

Advocating for Awareness

Throughout her cancer journey, Jessie J has been candid about the challenges of treatment and recovery, providing inspiration for fans and raising awareness about early detection and breast health. Her openness underscores the importance of sharing personal health experiences to encourage others to prioritize regular check-ups and screenings.

Jessie J continues to balance her music career, motherhood, and health recovery, proving resilience in the face of adversity while planning her highly anticipated tour across the U.S. and Canada in 2026.
