
The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced a reduction in the 2026 Hajj fare, lowering the cost for intending pilgrims from N8,457,685 to N7,669,769.
The announcement was made in a statement signed by the Board’s spokesman, Habibu Yarima.
Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo, Director General of the Commission, revealed that the N787,916 reduction was made possible through the intervention of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The DG made the disclosure after signing the 2026 Hajj Agreement between the Federal Government and the Holy Land Authority.
Currently in the Holy Land to secure accommodation for Jigawa pilgrims in Mecca, Alhaji Labbo confirmed that all arrangements for the 2026 Hajj exercise have been finalized.
He further urged intending pilgrims who have not yet paid their Hajj fares to do so before the collection period closes next month, emphasizing that timely payment is necessary to secure visas.
Alhaji Labbo also commended Governor Umar Namadi for his continuous support and cooperation with the Commission.
