Pickford Confirms Everton Are “In a Good Place”
Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has said the club “are in a good place” after a strong start to the 2025/26 Premier League season under manager David Moyes.
The 31-year-old, who joined the Toffees in 2017 for £30 million, has agreed a new contract deal, with BBC Sport sources reporting that an official announcement will be made in the coming days.
Speaking while on international duty with England, Pickford told BBC Radio 5 Live that he is focused on England’s upcoming game against Latvia, but confirmed that his club future has been settled.
“I think it’s agreed. I have got my sole focus on tomorrow’s game. I have got my England head on. We will see what happens after that but, yes, we are in a good place,” Pickford said.
Everton’s Strong Start
Everton currently sit eighth in the Premier League table, remaining unbeaten at their new Hill Dickinson Stadium. Pickford highlighted the positive atmosphere at the new stadium and the club’s improved start compared to previous seasons.
“Sometimes you can have a new stadium and not have that connection, but I think we have started off at the new stadium really well. The manager wants us pushing where Everton should be. We’ve had seven games and got 11 points. That’s a better start, and it’s about keeping that momentum,” he added.
Moyes continues to push the squad to meet club targets, emphasizing consistency and ambition as Everton aim to build on their positive early-season form.
Conclusion:
With Pickford securing a new deal and Everton unbeaten at home, the Toffees are aiming to maintain momentum in the Premier League under Moyes’ guidance.
