The Senate on Tuesday adjourned plenary in honour of Senator Okey Ezea (LP–Enugu North), who passed away last week.
The family of the late lawmaker formally announced his death last Wednesday. In a statement issued by his first son, Jideofor Ezea, the family said Senator Ezea died in Lagos on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, after a brief illness.
In line with parliamentary tradition, the Senate suspended its sitting to pay respect to its departed colleague.
The House of Representatives had similarly adjourned its plenary last Thursday in honour of Senator Ezea.
