Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has decorated CSP Usman Maibindiga, Commander of the special security outfit Operation Fushin Kada, following his promotion from Superintendent of Police (SP) to Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP).
Operation Fushin Kada, a joint initiative between the Kaduna State government and the Kaduna Police Command, was established to combat banditry, kidnapping, and other violent crimes across the state.
Governor Sani described Maibindiga’s promotion as a well-deserved recognition of his courage, professionalism, and leadership in coordinating field operations that have restored peace in various parts of Kaduna.
“Officers like CSP Maibindiga embody the spirit of sacrifice and patriotism that Kaduna State celebrates. The government remains committed to prioritising the welfare of our security personnel,” Sani said.
CSP Maibindiga, a native of Nguru in Yobe State, holds degrees in Computer Science, International Affairs, and Diplomacy, as well as a postgraduate diploma in International Law and Diplomacy. Since joining the Nigeria Police in 2014, he has served in key roles across the North-West and North-East, successfully leading multiple operations. He has also attended numerous professional courses locally and internationally, enhancing his tactical and leadership skills.
Governor Sani congratulated the officer and encouraged him to maintain his high standard of service. “Your promotion is not just a recognition of past achievements but a call to greater service,” he said.
The ceremony was attended by senior security officials, including the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations), as well as Maibindiga’s family. The Governor also celebrated the officer’s wife and their newborn son, Usman Zunnurain, affectionately referring to him as “the Baby of the Year” and “a true child of Kaduna State.”
