Kaduna Scribes, a professional journalists’ forum, has refuted reports by an online outlet claiming that Southern Kaduna, particularly Kauru Local Government Area, has been neglected. The forum described such claims as misleading and unfounded.
In a statement on Friday signed by its National Chairman, Comrade Ezekiel Gambo, Kaduna Scribes emphasized that the allegations ignore the sustained security measures implemented by Governor Uba Sani’s administration.
While acknowledging that isolated security challenges persist in Kauru and other areas, the forum argued that attributing these incidents to government neglect is a distortion of facts.
“Addressing banditry and insurgency is a complex task, but Governor Sani has consistently demonstrated commitment to confronting security threats since taking office,” the statement said.
The forum highlighted several initiatives by the Sani administration, including:
- Regular high-level security meetings with service chiefs, the state security council, and community stakeholders.
- Increased troop deployments and ongoing patrols in vulnerable areas.
- Continuous engagement with traditional rulers, youth groups, and religious leaders to enhance intelligence gathering.
- Rehabilitation programs supporting the safe return of displaced persons.
Describing these measures as a “whole-of-society strategy,” Kaduna Scribes said the administration’s efforts are already yielding results, despite ongoing criminal threats.
The group urged community leaders and citizens to support government efforts through constructive engagement rather than amplifying narratives that could fuel fear or undermine security operations.
Kaduna Scribes reaffirmed confidence in Governor Sani’s leadership, stressing the administration’s commitment to rescuing abducted persons, protecting lives and property, and consolidating lasting peace across Southern Kaduna.
