Rising Star Kai Trump to Compete Among LPGA Elites

Kai Madison Trump, granddaughter of US President Donald Trump, is set to make her LPGA Tour debut next month after receiving a sponsor’s exemption to compete at The Annika, one of the most prestigious events on the women’s golf calendar.

The 18-year-old rising golfer will tee off at the Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida, from 13–16 November, competing for a share of the $3.25 million (£2.45 million) prize pool.

Kai, the eldest daughter of Donald Trump Jr, has already committed to play college golf at the University of Miami starting in 2026, marking the next step in her promising golfing career.

“My dream has always been to compete with the best in the world on the LPGA Tour,” Kai said in a statement.
“This event will be an incredible experience. I look forward to meeting and competing against so many of my heroes and mentors as I make my LPGA Tour debut.”

Competing with Golf’s Biggest Names

At The Annika, Kai Trump will share the fairways with some of the world’s best golfers, including:

  • Nelly Korda, the world number two and three-time Annika champion,
  • England’s Charley Hull,
  • American star Lexi Thompson, and
  • 2023 champion Lilia Vu.

The LPGA confirmed that Kai’s massive social media following, which exceeds six million followers on TikTok and Instagram combined, has the potential to bring new audiences to the sport.

“Sponsor invitations are an important way to spotlight emerging talent and bring new attention to our tournaments and the LPGA,” said Ricki Lasky, LPGA’s Chief Tour Business and Operations Officer.
“We’re excited to see Kai take this next step in her journey.”

From Social Media Star to Golfing Prodigy

Kai Trump has become one of the most talked-about young athletes in the United States, known for her polished swing, competitive drive, and engaging social media presence.

Her combination of athletic talent and digital influence is viewed by many in the golf industry as a chance to bridge traditional golf with a new generation of fans.

In addition to her athletic pursuits, Kai recently launched her own apparel and lifestyle brand, highlighting her growing influence beyond the golf course.

A Presidential Connection to the Game

Golf runs deep in the Trump family’s legacy. The Trumps own and operate numerous golf properties worldwide, and former President Donald Trump has long been associated with the sport.

Kai’s entry onto the LPGA stage continues that connection — but this time, the spotlight is firmly on her. While her famous last name draws attention, her skill and composure on the course are quickly earning her recognition as a legitimate competitor.

Looking Ahead

As Kai Trump prepares for her debut at The Annika, all eyes will be on how the teenager performs under professional-level pressure.

Her appearance is not just a milestone in her young career but also a potential turning point for golf’s appeal among younger fans — a goal the LPGA has been actively pursuing.

With her talent, charisma, and growing global fanbase, Kai Trump’s journey from rising amateur to professional golfer could mark the beginning of a new era for women’s golf.
