Kangana Ranaut recently spoke candidly about her career journey, asserting that her rise to fame—and now her foray into politics—was significantly more challenging than that of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. The actress made these remarks at an event in Delhi, highlighting her rural roots as a defining factor in the struggles she faced.
From Bhamla to Bollywood: Kangana’s Perspective
Kangana emphasized that coming from a small village gave her journey a unique set of challenges. “There is probably nobody else who came from a village and got such success in the mainstream. You talk about Shah Rukh Khan. They are from Delhi, convent-educated. I was from a village that nobody would have even heard of – Bhamla,” she said.
She further stated that her candid assessment was based on self-reflection and honesty, not just public opinion. “Maybe others may disagree, but I feel it’s because I am brutally honest, not just with people but with myself too,” Kangana added.
Internet Reactions
The remarks immediately caught the attention of netizens and sparked debate. Many viewers questioned her comparison to Shah Rukh Khan, suggesting that the superstar also faced challenges despite his urban upbringing. Comments included:
- “I mean taking SRK’s name in the statement is itself proof enough that she wanted to belittle him and show herself as a bigger person… please it’s better not to defend Kangana.”
- “Lol. Her parents put her in DAV in Chandigarh to study science. It was in the papers years ago, when she used to be more truthful.”
- “An actress like herself really doesn’t need to embarrass herself, her audiences can speak for themselves 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️.”
Even her admirers expressed reservations about the comparison. “I like her but this is the limit!!” one comment read, while another said, “Kangana… why don’t you just focus on a good script and deliver us a beautiful movie as you used to…”
Kangana’s Career Context
Kangana Ranaut, known for her strong performances in films like Queen, Tanu Weds Manu, and Manikarnika, has often been outspoken about her experiences in the film industry. Her journey from a small village in Himachal Pradesh to the pinnacle of Bollywood has been widely documented, and she has frequently contrasted her struggles with those of actors from more urban backgrounds.
With this latest statement, Kangana once again reinforced her reputation for blunt honesty, emphasizing that her perspective on challenges and success is shaped by her roots and personal experiences.
