Kevin Spacey Reveals He Has “No Home” and Struggling Finances Years After Allegations

Kevin Spacey is opening up about his current life, revealing that he has “no home” and that his financial situation is “not great” after years of sexual misconduct allegations and costly legal battles. The two-time Oscar winner, 66, spoke to the Telegraph on November 19 about living in hotels and Airbnbs as he moves from project to project.

Spacey on Living Without a Home

“I’m living in hotels, I’m living in Airbnbs, I’m going where the work is,” Spacey told the publication. “I literally have no home, that’s what I’m attempting to explain.” He described everything he owns as being in storage and hopes to settle down again if circumstances improve.

Spacey’s financial struggles follow nearly a decade of legal challenges stemming from the first sexual misconduct accusation in 2017. Though he denied the claims, the allegations had a significant impact on his career and personal life.

Cleared of Charges in New York and London

Despite the public scrutiny, Spacey was cleared of sexual abuse charges in New York in 2022 and sexual assault claims in London in 2023. However, he explained that the costs of defending himself have been astronomical.

“The costs of these last seven years have been astronomical. I’ve had very little coming in and everything going out,” he said. Bankruptcy was considered but never finalized, according to Spacey.

Foreclosure and Career Challenges

In June 2025, Spacey told Piers Morgan Uncensored that his Baltimore home was being foreclosed on. “My house is being sold at auction. So I have to go back to Baltimore and put all my things in storage,” he explained at the time.

Spacey has remained active in film, completing six movies over the past three years, including Holiguards, which he directed himself. However, he has yet to be signed by a major studio.

He noted that industry recognition from influential directors could help relaunch his career. “My feeling is if Martin Scorsese or Quentin Tarantino call Evan [Lowenstein, Spacey’s manager] tomorrow, it will be over. I will be incredibly honored and delighted when that level of talent picks up the phone,” he said.

Returning to the Spotlight

In May 2025, Spacey accepted a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Better World Fund at the Cannes Film Festival. During his nearly ten-minute acceptance speech, he reflected on his personal growth, saying he is “not angry, not bitter, not resentful, but more present, more loving, more understanding and more forgiving than I ever have been in my life.”

Despite the challenges, Spacey appears determined to rebuild his life and career while navigating the lasting effects of his legal and public struggles.
