Magaji Adebanjo, an employee of Vine Crest College, has pleaded for help after being abducted by gunmen along the Kabba road in Kogi State. In a heart-wrenching video obtained by SaharaReporters, Adebanjo is seen tied up, visibly exhausted and terrified, with a gun pointed at his head as he desperately calls for assistance.
Details of the Abduction
Adebanjo, who hails from Imo Arikoko in the Akoko area of Ondo State, was traveling from Iperu to Abuja when he was kidnapped. His captors have demanded a ransom of N100 million for his release.
In the video, Adebanjo, with tears in his eyes, identifies himself and recounts the details of his abduction. Another man, apparently taken along with him, is seen sitting nearby with a visibly injured knee, looking distressed and unable to stand properly.
“My name is Mogaiji Adebanjo. I’m from Imo Arikoko in Ondo State. I work with Vine Crest College. When I was coming from Iperu, going to Abuja, I was kidnapped along the Kabba road,” Adebanjo says in the video. “They are demanding N100 million.”
A Desperate Plea for Help
In his tearful plea, Adebanjo highlights his family responsibilities, describing his pregnant wife, four-year-old son, and elderly father who are all dependent on him.
“Please, help me. I don’t want to die. I have a pregnant wife and a four-year-old son. Please, help me. They want N100 million. I was taken yesterday. Please, help me,” he begs in the video.
Growing Kidnapping Concerns
This abduction is part of the increasing wave of kidnappings along major highways in Kogi and surrounding states. Commuters continue to face the threat of armed bandits, with rising concerns about their safety on these roads.
