
Lainey Wilson, country music’s rising star and Entertainer of the Year nominee, is set to host the 59th Annual CMA Awards live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. Speaking at a press conference at Bridgestone Arena on November 16, Wilson expressed her excitement and humility:
“I’m just proud, and I feel just so much joy. I mean, it’s a big deal. It’s some big ol’ shoes to fill. I don’t take it lightly.”
Wilson, 33, previously co-hosted the CMA Awards in 2024 with Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning, but this year marks her first solo hosting appearance. She described the experience as a “true honor” and a chance to celebrate the country music genre that has shaped her career.
Reba McEntire’s Advice: More Than One Tip
In preparation for the big night, Wilson reached out to Reba McEntire, 70, asking for “one piece of advice”. She anticipated a simple tip along the lines of “be yourself and have fun,” but McEntire surprised her with a detailed list of recommendations.
“She sent me a list,” Wilson said with a laugh. “I was like, ‘Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. One piece of advice!’”
The guidance from McEntire, who has hosted the CMA Awards five times, offered Wilson invaluable insights into handling the pressures and excitement of emceeing one of country music’s biggest nights.
A Busy Year for Lainey Wilson
2025 has been a monumental year for Wilson. Not only is she hosting the CMAs, but she also earned six nominations, including for Entertainer of the Year, a category she previously won in 2023. In addition, Wilson will perform during the ceremony, showcasing her hit songs to a global audience.
“I grew up watching the CMA Awards like it was the Super Bowl, so to be hosting for a second year is a true honor,” Wilson said.
“I’m humbled that CMA has trusted me with this role, and I can’t wait to love on this genre that has given me so much.”
