Lakers Rally Without Reaves, James to Beat Spurs for Fifth Straight Win

Los Angeles, CALuka Doncic led the Los Angeles Lakers to a 118-116 victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday, extending their winning streak to five games despite missing Austin Reaves and LeBron James.

Doncic scored 35 points, dished out 13 assists, grabbed nine rebounds, and made five steals, including a crucial go-ahead three-pointer with 2:31 remaining. Deandre Ayton added a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds.

The Lakers erased a nine-point deficit in the fourth quarter, finishing the game on a 21-10 run, while the Spurs’ final-second opportunity fell short after free-throw misses. Victor Wembanyama led San Antonio with 19 points and eight rebounds but fouled out late.

Elsewhere, the New York Knicks defeated Minnesota 137-114 to remain unbeaten at home, the Houston Rockets extended their winning streak to five with a 124-109 victory over Memphis, and the Denver Nuggets stayed perfect at home with a 122-112 win over Miami.

The Lakers improve to 7-2 on the season, while the Spurs fall to 5-2 after starting 5-0.
