Law firm issues ₦7m demand notice to 2baba and wife over alleged unpaid fees

A legal firm, C.S. Nworgu & Co., has reportedly issued a formal demand notice to Nigerian music icon Innocent Ujah Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, and his wife, Hon. Natasha Idibia, over an alleged unpaid professional fee totaling ₦7 million.

A copy of the alleged demand letter surfaced online after it was shared by Instagram blogger Cutie_julls. The letter, dated October 31, 2025, was reportedly addressed to the couple’s residence in Guzape, Abuja.

Details of the Allegation

According to the letter, the firm’s client, C.E. Nwogbo & Associates, facilitated the process through which the Idibias rented a five-bedroom semi-detached duplex with a boys’ quarters located on Edwin Clerk Crescent.

The law firm claimed that the couple secured the property for a two-year tenancy, paying ₦40 million upfront and agreeing to pay an additional ₦40 million by December 2025. However, it alleged that the professional fees charged for facilitating the transaction were never settled.

Cheque Allegedly Returned Unpaid

The solicitors further alleged that a cheque issued to cover the outstanding fee was returned unpaid. They expressed concern over the situation, noting that the unpaid amount represents the earnings of staff members who worked on the transaction.

Seven-Day Ultimatum

C.S. Nworgu & Co. stated that the couple has been given seven days to pay the outstanding ₦7 million, warning that failure to do so would result in legal action to recover the debt.

The firm emphasized that the demand notice serves as a final opportunity for settlement before litigation proceedings are initiated.
