Chelsea FC is reportedly closing in on a major managerial change, with Racing Strasbourg coach Liam Rosenior set to succeed Enzo Maresca as the Premier League club’s new head coach. While a formal contract has not yet been signed, Rosenior has confirmed that a verbal agreement is in place, signaling a significant move for both the coach and the London-based team.

Liam Rosenior Confirms Agreement with Chelsea

Speaking at a press conference in Strasbourg, France, Rosenior stated:

“I haven’t signed yet. I have agreed verbally with Chelsea. It’s really important – this is different to anything anyone has ever done. Nobody has made a statement before they have signed a contract.”

The 41-year-old British coach, who joined Ligue 1 side Racing Strasbourg in 2024, emphasized that the deal is expected to be finalized in the coming hours. Rosenior has been transparent with Strasbourg’s management throughout the process and highlighted his respect and gratitude toward the French club.

“Everything is agreed, and it will probably go through in the next few hours,” Rosenior added. “I’m here because I care about this club and I felt it was right to answer your questions physically here today before I move on.”

“I will love this club for the rest of my life, but I cannot turn down Chelsea,” Rosenior confirmed.
