Nigerian rapper Jude Abaga (M.I) has shared insights on why some celebrities struggle financially despite fame.
In an interview with Chude, M.I explained that many celebrities go broke because they try to live up to public expectations and flaunt wealth beyond their means. He revealed that he trained himself mentally to accept being “broke-shamed”, refusing to let societal pressures dictate his lifestyle.
M.I said, “If you are not comfortable with the fact that some fans can broke shame you… you are going to continue adjusting to their expectations. And that is how you go broke.” He noted that even celebrities who were affluent 20 years ago, flying private jets, no longer enjoy the same wealth due to such pressures.
