A Kano State High Court sitting at Court No. 7 and presided over by Justice Amina Adamu has ordered the remand of Aminu Ismail, a resident of Ganbai village in Ajingi Local Government Area, for allegedly killing his father, Dahiru Ahmad, following a disagreement over marriage plans.
According to court reports, an argument broke out between Aminu and his father after the latter allegedly forbade him from marrying a second wife. The altercation reportedly escalated, resulting in the father’s death.
During Thursday’s proceedings, Prosecuting Counsel Barrister Lamido Abba Sorondinki read the murder charge against the defendant. However, Aminu pleaded not guilty to the allegation.
After hearing submissions from both parties, Justice Adamu ordered the defendant’s remand in a correctional facility pending trial.
The case was adjourned to November 13, 2025, for the commencement of the trial and presentation of witnesses.
