MI London Appoint Kieron Pollard and Lisa Keightley as Coaches for The Hundred 2026

MI London have confirmed Kieron Pollard and Lisa Keightley as the head coaches of their men’s and women’s teams respectively for the 2026 edition of The Hundred, bringing a wealth of international experience and T20 expertise to the Oval-based franchise.

Kieron Pollard to Lead MI London Men

Former West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard, 38, has a long-standing association with Mumbai Indians (MI) and their global network of cricket teams, including sister franchises in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Major League Cricket (MLC), SA20, and ILT20.

Pollard’s coaching credentials include serving as assistant coach for England’s men’s team during the 2024 T20 World Cup, and he is currently MI’s batting coach for the IPL. The Trinidadian superstar boasts a remarkable playing record, having appeared in over 730 domestic T20 matches, the most in the format’s history, alongside 101 T20 internationals for West Indies.

Pollard has also played in England for Surrey in The Blast, as well as for London Spirit and Southern Brave in previous editions of The Hundred.

Commenting on his new role, Pollard said:

“It’s an exciting opportunity to build a strong team and create a high-performance culture at MI London. Having played in The Hundred and for Surrey, I’ve seen first-hand the strong alignment between Surrey’s cricketing culture and the Mumbai Indians’ winning ethos.”

Lisa Keightley to Coach MI London Women

Joining Pollard, Lisa Keightley, former Australia international, will lead MI London’s women’s side. The 54-year-old brings extensive coaching experience, having guided Northern Superchargers (now Sunrisers Leeds) to the women’s title in 2025, and currently heads MI’s Women’s Premier League team alongside Sydney Thunder in the WBBL.

Keightley, who played nine Tests and 82 one-day internationals for Australia, also previously coached the national teams of Australia and England, adding a wealth of tactical knowledge to the franchise.

She said:

“Having witnessed the team’s past success and now stepping into this role, I’m looking forward to the journey and a new challenge after winning The Hundred last season.”

MI London’s Evolution and Ownership

MI London were formerly known as Oval Invincibles, before a name change following investment from the owners of Mumbai Indians. Reliance Industries Limited purchased a 49% stake in the franchise, which has produced five title-winning teams across both men’s and women’s competitions in The Hundred.

Last season, the men’s and women’s teams were coached by Tom Moody and Jonathan Batty, who will step aside to allow Pollard and Keightley to implement their strategies.

The Hundred 2026 Coaching and Team Updates

Other franchises have also made announcements ahead of the 2026 season:

  • Trent Rockets retained Tom Banton for their men’s team and Australian all-rounder Ash Gardner for the women’s side.
  • Southern Brave revealed a new red-and-blue branding, aligning with the colors of IPL, SA20, and ILT20 franchises under their new ownership network.

The appointments of Pollard and Keightley signal MI London’s ambition to blend global T20 expertise with a strong domestic cricketing culture, making them one of the franchises to watch in The Hundred 2026.
