Mohbad’s Widow, Wunmi, Provides Update on DNA Court Case with Father-in-Law

The paternity dispute over Liam, the son of late singer Mohbad, has resurfaced after his mother, Wunmi, issued a statement addressing claims that she was avoiding a DNA test requested by Mohbad’s father.

The controversy comes as Mohbad’s father revealed that the DNA court case has been reopened and stated that the singer will not be buried until the matter is resolved.

Father Questions Grandson’s Paternity
The grieving grandfather has repeatedly questioned Liam’s paternity and petitioned the court to compel Wunmi to submit the child for DNA testing. Public opinion has often suggested that Wunmi was delaying the process.

However, in a statement released via her lawyers and shared on Instagram, Wunmi insisted that Mohbad’s father has been the one causing delays. She explained that during yesterday’s court proceedings, her father-in-law requested that the DNA test be conducted only in two hospitals of his choosing.

Court Rules Test Must Be Conducted in Neutral Hospitals
Wunmi revealed that the court struck out the request, ruling that the DNA test must take place in two neutral and independent hospitals with no personal interests involved. She noted that this was one of the reasons the process has been prolonged and emphasized that she is prepared to comply with the court’s directive once impartial facilities are designated.
