Nigerian actor, comedian, and activist Adebowale Adedayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, has strongly denied a rape allegation leveled against him.

An X user with the handle Lukurawa16703 accused him of raping a 17-year-old girl and allegedly using the Nigerian police to intimidate the victim and her family. The accusation came amid Mr Macaroni’s criticisms of the Bola Tinubu administration over rising insecurity.

Responding, Mr Macaroni described the allegation as “horrendous and distasteful”, claiming it was politically motivated by supporters of the ruling APC. He called the claim propaganda aimed at silencing his activism.

He warned he would take legal action against the individual behind the account and urged the public to provide information that could aid in this pursuit.

Mr Macaroni emphasized that he will not stop criticizing the government, calling the allegation an attempt to intimidate him for holding the administration accountable.
