Nigerian media personality Toke Makinwa is marking this year’s Christmas with extra excitement, celebrating the holiday for the first time as a mother.

In a heartwarming Instagram video, Toke unveiled her grand Christmas décor, explaining that the season feels more special than ever because her daughter, baby Yakira, will be experiencing Christmas for the very first time.

Toke wrote:
“Santa, please stop here for Yakira… Christmas 2025… A very personal one for me. It’s my first Christmas as a mom, my daughter’s first Christmas. New family tradition unlocked.”

The proud mum revealed that she decorated her home herself this year, hoping to recreate the magical holiday traditions she grew up with. She shared that she can’t wait for the day little Yaya is old enough to run around the house and join her in decorating.

Toke also mentioned that she ordered personalized ornaments from the time Yakira was born, and they turned out even more beautiful than she expected. According to her, baby Yakira is mesmerized by the Christmas lights and often gets completely absorbed staring at them.

Jokingly, she added:
“’Tis the season, guys… prepare to be sick of me.”

Last month, Toke celebrated Yaya at three months old, posting adorable photos and reflecting on the overwhelming love motherhood has introduced into her life.

Toke welcomed Yakira Eliana in August at the age of 40 and dedicated her to God in November at a star-studded ceremony attended by several top celebrities.
