Nagaland Partners with Toyota Kirloskar Motor to Boost Health and Education Sectors

Kohima: The Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt Ltd (TKM) to strengthen the state’s health and education systems.

Under the partnership, health-focused interventions will aim to upgrade essential facilities, expand access to services, and strengthen healthcare systems across both rural and urban areas. Education initiatives will focus on infrastructural development, digital learning, and skill-building, preparing Nagaland’s youth to seize emerging opportunities in an increasingly competitive environment.

Addressing the event, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio highlighted that healthcare and education remain priority sectors for the state. He noted that the MoU offers a significant impetus to improving rural communities, where gaps in infrastructure and skill development persist. Reflecting on his recent visits to TKM’s manufacturing facility and the company-run educational institution, Rio praised the school’s experiential learning and holistic development model as a demonstration of how quality education can equip children for the future.

The Chief Minister also underscored the positive impact of TKM’s initiatives on underprivileged communities, asserting that such collaborations provide a meaningful pathway for long-term improvement. He assured the state government’s full support for transparent and effective implementation of all initiatives under this partnership.

IDAN Chairman Abu Mehta commended Toyota for executing the MoU in a remarkably short timeframe and adopting best practices in the implementation framework. Sudeep Dalvi, representing Toyota Kirloskar, highlighted the company’s philosophy of “Child to Community Development”, emphasizing that the growth of children translates into broader community development.

The state government welcomed the collaboration, expressing confidence that this partnership will generate lasting benefits for Nagaland’s people, particularly in the domains of health and education.
