NCDMB Concludes Training on Structural Steel Fabrication for Oil Sector

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has successfully wrapped up a three-week capacity-building training on structural steel fabrication for oil and gas projects in Port Harcourt.

The programme attracted participants from diverse backgrounds and was designed to equip them with essential skills in structural steel fabrication—a crucial aspect of the oil and gas industry.

Prince Zubai, representing NCDMB, urged participants to fully leverage the skills acquired during the training. He highlighted the board’s commitment to strengthening local content and capacity, ensuring that Nigerians are well-prepared to participate meaningfully in the sector.

“Equipping our people with the right skills is central to our mandate,” Zubai said, noting that the hands-on experience gained during the training will enhance employability and technical proficiency in the industry.

A key feature of the programme was the emphasis on industry partnerships, underscoring NCDMB’s dedication to collaborating with stakeholders to drive local content development.

Speaking at the event, Ulari Nwaogazie, Director of Kinetium, expressed gratitude to NCDMB for the opportunity to participate in the initiative. She highlighted the critical role of capacity-building programmes in fostering growth and competitiveness in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.

The training forms part of NCDMB’s broader plan to equip over 10,000 youths with high-demand skills in the oil and gas industry, an initiative spearheaded by the board’s Executive Secretary, Felix Omatsola Ogbe. The programme aims to bridge the skill gap and prepare Nigerian youths for emerging opportunities in the sector.
