Senator Ned Nwoko has stated that his estranged wife, actress Regina Daniels, must complete a court-ordered drug rehabilitation program before she can regain access to their children.
In a statement released on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, titled “Take the Window of Quietude for Therapy,” Nwoko accused Daniels of misleading the public with posts about their family dispute. He said her online narratives contradict long-established family practices and misrepresent her absence from the children’s lives.
Nwoko emphasised that the children are being protected in a stable environment and that Daniels’ absence has largely been by choice, not force. He also highlighted concerns over her wellbeing, stating that encouragement to seek rehabilitation is not punishment, but a measure to ensure she is emotionally and mentally fit for parenting.
According to the senator, a court has already ruled that Daniels must undergo rehabilitation and be assessed by the Abuja Social Welfare Department before access to their children, Munir (5) and Khalifa (3), can be restored. The case is adjourned for hearing on February 4, 2026.
Nwoko urged Daniels to comply with the court directives and focus on recovery rather than seeking public sympathy online, stressing that this is the responsible path to meaningful contact with their children.
