A new television show, “Japada,” has launched to celebrate the growing trend of reverse migration, showcasing Nigerians who have moved back from abroad to contribute to national development.
Produced by TMPL Motion Pictures, a subsidiary of The Temple Company, the show aims to inspire hope and national pride at a time when the country faces significant brain drain.
Hosted by media personality Mimi Onalaja, “Japada” delves into the personal journeys of returnees from various sectors, including healthcare, technology, and the arts. The show highlights their motivations, the challenges they overcame, and the transformative impact they are making in Nigeria.
Notable guests featured in the series include Prof. Kofo Ogunyakin and Dr. Yemi Johnson, who returned from the UK and US to establish First Cardiology Consultants, Nigeria’s leading heart care facility. Award-winning actresses Shaffy Bello and Osas Ighodaro also share their stories of returning to build their careers in Nollywood.
“Japada is an inspired idea… We took on this project as a national assignment to kick-start conversations about nation-building,” said Kolawole Fashola, the show’s Supervising Producer.
The show airs weekly on NTA and TVC News.
