Abubakar Yakubu, the newly elected President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), has reportedly been arrested after a tragic car accident in Surulere, Lagos.

Yakubu, who won the AGN presidency in a closely contested election—defeating veteran actress Rita Daniels 116 votes to 113—made history as the first Northern Nigerian to lead the Guild since its formal registration in 1998.
