
Los Angeles, California – Nick Reiner, 32, has been formally charged with the murder of his parents, Hollywood director Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer Reiner, authorities announced on Tuesday.
The Los Angeles District Attorney, Nathan Hochman, confirmed that Nick Reiner faces two counts of first-degree murder, with a special circumstance alleging multiple murders. Additionally, prosecutors noted a “special allegation” that Reiner used a knife during the killings, which could make him eligible for life without parole or even the death penalty, pending court proceedings.
The charges were filed two days after the couple were found dead in their Brentwood home with multiple stab wounds. Autopsies are ongoing to determine the exact cause, manner, and time of death.
