
Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State has dismissed all 30 of his special advisers, a move aimed at reorganising their roles for improved performance under his New Niger agenda.
The announcement was made during his first council meeting with newly sworn-in commissioners at the Government House in Minna on Tuesday.
In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, Governor Bago explained that the decision was intended to rejig and reposition the advisers’ portfolios to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
He also expressed gratitude for their service, saying, “I appreciate them for their sacrifices and contributions towards the success of my administration and also wish them well in their future endeavours.”
The dissolution formally ends the tenure of all special advisers as Governor Bago restructures his administration to align with his strategic vision for the state.
