Nigeria’s LPVT Solar Panels Achieve Global Certification

LPV Technologies (LPVT) has achieved a major milestone for Nigeria’s renewable energy sector, as its locally manufactured solar panels earned the prestigious TÜV SÜD certification, meeting the strict International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards. The achievement signals a boost for locally produced clean energy solutions.

In a statement, LPVT said the TÜV SÜD mark is recognized worldwide as a symbol of safety, reliability, and performance. Emmanuel Agboola, Head of Operations, noted that the certification reflects the company’s investment in European-standard production processes, precision engineering, and rigorous quality assurance.

“Our production line, powered by Ecoprogetti technology from Europe, ensures each panel meets international benchmarks for durability, efficiency, and long-term performance,” Agboola said. “This certification confirms that Nigerian-made solar panels are not just viable locally—they are world-class in quality and innovation.”

LPVT’s panels, built with advanced monocrystalline cells, have been tested under both international and local conditions to ensure high energy yield, low degradation rates, and reliable performance even in low-light environments—a crucial feature for Nigeria’s diverse climate.

Agboola highlighted that the achievement comes at a critical time as Nigeria seeks to expand access to renewable energy and increase local content while reducing reliance on imports. The TÜV-certified panels are expected to shift perceptions about locally manufactured solar products and set a benchmark for the industry.

“By combining European precision with Nigerian ingenuity and thorough field testing, LPVT is ensuring panels that are built to last and built for Africa,” the company stated. The milestone not only elevates LPVT but also positions Nigeria as a potential hub for premium solar technology in West Africa.
