Pastor Emmanuel Iren has described Nigeria’s security infrastructure as “one of the best in the world,” while acknowledging that its effectiveness often depends on an individual’s social and financial status.
Speaking during a sermon, Pastor Iren noted that wealthy and influential citizens typically receive swift responses from security operatives, whereas the poor and marginalised frequently face delays or neglect.
“Our security infrastructure is actually one of the best in the world. Be a rich person in trouble, drop money, and they will bring the thief for you. Maybe the problem is that where wickedness is happening, the voices there are poor,” he said.
The cleric’s comments come amid ongoing discussions on the persecution of Christians in Nigeria and the country’s designation by the United States as a Country of Particular Concern.
