Noida, November 29, 2025: A 25-year-old woman was shot dead in Noida on Friday evening, in an incident reportedly triggered by her refusal to marry her boyfriend. The accused, identified as Krishna, 26, remains at large, and multiple police teams have been deployed to apprehend him, officials said.
According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Noida), Shakti Mohan Avasthy, preliminary investigations indicate that the incident occurred at the victim’s paying guest accommodation in Phase 2, Noida. Krishna allegedly went to the room of his girlfriend, Sonu, and opened fire during a dispute. The victim was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital by police personnel, but she was declared dead upon arrival.
Background of the Victim and Accused
Sonu, originally from Amroha, had previously worked alongside Krishna at a factory, during which they were in a relationship. More recently, she was employed as a domestic worker. Krishna, a native of Bihar, reportedly pressed her repeatedly to marry him, and police suspect that her refusal led to the fatal confrontation.
Investigators are examining the couple’s prior interactions and social history to understand the sequence of events leading up to the shooting. “Initial inquiry revealed that Krishna went to the woman’s room and shot her due to a dispute between the two,” said DCP Avasthy.
Police Response and Investigation
Following the shooting, the Noida Police have launched a manhunt for the accused, deploying several teams across the region. They are examining CCTV footage from surrounding areas and are in the process of tracking Krishna’s recent movements. The police have urged the public to come forward with any information that may lead to his arrest.
The tragic incident highlights ongoing concerns about relationship-related violence, particularly where disputes over personal choices escalate into fatal outcomes.
Similar Case in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh
In a separate, equally disturbing incident, a married couple was found dead inside their residence in Atal Awas Colony, Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, raising concerns of domestic violence and suspected murder-suicide. Police discovered handwritten messages on the wall in lipstick along with a suicide note, leading to the preliminary conclusion that the man may have killed his wife due to suspicions regarding her relationship with another man.
These two cases underscore the increasing prevalence of domestic disputes turning deadly, prompting calls for stronger preventive measures, mental health support, and awareness programs to address conflict resolution within personal relationships.
Public and Legal Implications
Authorities have reiterated that such incidents are criminal acts with severe legal consequences, and anyone found involved in premeditated acts of violence will face stringent prosecution under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. Police continue to investigate both cases, focusing on gathering evidence, eyewitness accounts, and digital footprints to establish motive and culpability.
As of Saturday evening, Krishna remains untraceable, and police have appealed to the community for assistance. The investigation is ongoing, with updates expected as the search for the accused continues.
