Nose Gear Failure Grounds Flight in Enugu, No Injuries Reported

An aircraft, 5N-BZN, arriving in Enugu from Lagos experienced a nose-landing gear malfunction while touching down on Thursday evening.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) confirmed that the incident occurred around 19:10 hours, but all passengers and crew were safely evacuated with no casualties reported.

According to FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mr. Henry Agbebire, emergency response teams were immediately deployed, including fire tenders and medical standby units. Passengers and crew were safely transported to the terminal using apron buses, completing the evacuation by 19:48 hours.

“FAAN’s immediate priority is the safety of passengers, crew, and airport users. The airport emergency resources were fully mobilized, and the aircraft and airside were secured,” the statement read.

FAAN assured the public that updates would be provided as more information becomes available.
