Wanted bandit leader Bello Turji and his armed men reportedly attacked villages in Sokoto State, forcing residents to abandon their homes.
According to reports, Turji’s gang raided Tidibale village in Isa Local Government Area (LGA) on Sunday night. A security expert and journalist, Bakatsine (@DanKatsina50), posted on X that the attackers told villagers to leave within 24 hours.
In a video shared by Bakatsine, residents could be seen evacuating the village with their belongings.
The journalist also noted that Bargaja village, another community in Isa LGA, had been targeted days earlier, reportedly reflecting Turji’s declared intention to assert control over much of the district.
The incidents highlight ongoing insecurity in the region and the urgent need for reinforced security measures to protect vulnerable communities.
