NPFL: Ilechukwu Remains in Charge of Rangers – Ekenedilichukwu

Enugu Rangers’ assistant coach, Ekeh Ekenedilichukwu, has affirmed that Fidelis Ilechukwu remains the club’s head coach despite his periodic absences on Super Eagles international duty.

Ekenedilichukwu revealed that Ilechukwu prepared the team ahead of their Matchday 12 clash against Shooting Stars, emphasizing that the squad continues to operate under the head coach’s tactical instructions.

Rangers secured a 1-0 victory over Shooting Stars in Enugu on Sunday, with Chidozie Iwundu scoring the decisive goal.

“Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu is not out of the team. He was part of the preparation for the clash against Shooting Stars. His absence doesn’t affect winning or losing as we are playing under his tactical guidance,” Ekenedilichukwu said in a post-match interview.

The statement seeks to quell speculation about Ilechukwu’s status amid his intermittent duties with the national team.
