Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has dismissed recent social media reports claiming that former Governor Chief Willie Obiano had passed away in a London hospital, describing them as malicious and completely false.

In a statement released by his Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, Soludo confirmed that he personally spoke with Obiano, who is alive and in good health. The governor expressed concern over the circulation of such rumours, calling them both wicked and irresponsible.

He further urged media outlets and online publishers to adhere to ethical journalism, verifying information through official channels before publication, warning that spreading unverified reports undermines public trust.

Soludo reassured the public that Obiano remains hale and hearty and extended his best wishes to the former governor for continued health, peace, and a fulfilling life.
