The Abia State chapter of the Obidient Movement has clarified that it never threatened to withdraw support for Governor Alex Otti in 2027 over his political stance regarding the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In a statement signed by Mrs. Ebere Obiesie (National/South East Advisory Council), Elder Bethel Nwokoma (Abia State Secretary), and Dr. Chibuzor Obiesili (Spokesperson), the Movement described media reports suggesting an ultimatum to Gov. Otti as misleading and a distortion of facts.
The statement explained that a press conference held by the Movement on Wednesday was misconstrued. The conference was meant to condemn former Abia Governors and their allies for allegedly undermining Otti, and not to issue any threat regarding ADC alignment.
Reaffirming its commitment, the Movement praised Governor Otti for his developmental initiatives and pledged continued support for his administration. The statement emphasized:
“The Obidient Movement Abia State chapter unequivocally condemns and distances itself from coordinated attempts by former Governors and their cronies to discredit Governor Otti’s administration. We reaffirm our unwavering support for his leadership and commend his commitment to good governance, transparency, and people-centered development.”
The Movement urged the public to disregard any twisted media reports that misrepresent its stance, reaffirming that Governor Alex Otti remains fully supported by the Abia chapter of the Obidient Movement.
