
FilmOne Entertainment celebrated a strong box office debut as Warlord: Olori Ogun earned ₦47 million in its opening weekend, reflecting growing audience enthusiasm for culturally rich Nigerian films.
Produced by Odunlade Adekola Film Production (OAFP) in collaboration with FilmOne Studios, the film premiered on Wednesday, November 26, and hit cinemas nationwide on Friday, November 28. Co-directed by Odunlade Adekola, Tope Adebayo, and Abiodun Olanrewaju, the movie is steeped in Yoruba culture, exploring themes of bravery, legacy, identity, and community.
The narrative follows a fearless warrior navigating family conflicts while defending his people, blending history, drama, and cultural symbolism. Its premiere attracted a star-studded audience, including Toyin Abraham, Muyiwa Ademola, Femi Adebayo, Iyabo Ojo, Mike Ezuruonye, Kie Kie, and Bisola Aiyeola, all showcasing striking traditional attire that mirrored the film’s cultural essence.
Speaking at the premiere, Odunlade Adekola described the project as a labor of passion. “Audiences should expect something powerful and exceptional. Warlord: Olori Ogun is a strong story, and I am proud of what we created,” he said.
The film features standout performances from Odunlade Adekola, Toyin Abraham, Muyiwa Ademola, Femi Adebayo Salami, and Ibrahim Chatta, earning praise for its authentic storytelling and compelling characters.
