Omah Lay: “God, Prayer Won’t Save Nigeria”

Afrobeats singer Omah Lay (Stanley Omah Didia) has stated that prayers alone cannot save Nigeria, urging citizens to take proactive action to address the country’s challenges.

In a post on X, he wrote: “No Jesus, no Allah, no prayer is saving us. Nothing changes until we wake TF up.” His comments came amid calls from Christian and Islamic leaders for prayers in light of escalating insecurity and economic hardship.

Other celebrities, including Don Jazzy, Davido, Falz, and Mr Macaroni, have also responded to recent violent incidents such as the church attack in Kwara State and the kidnapping of schoolgirls in Kebbi, stressing the need for urgent government action.

Singer Yemi Alade additionally emphasized that “African problems need African solutions, not new problems,” opposing calls for foreign intervention in the country’s security challenges.
