
At least one person has died following violent clashes between suspected Aiye and Eiye confraternity members in the Awoyaya area of Lagos State.
The unrest reportedly began on Monday, spilling into Tuesday, and caused widespread panic among residents. A young man, identified as Pelebe, was confirmed dead, while another victim sustained a gunshot wound to the leg.
Videos shared on the Telegram channel Naija Confra, which reports cult-related incidents, showed residents fleeing for safety and graphic scenes of the injured.
The Lagos State Police Command has yet to provide detailed updates on arrests.
This incident follows a recent outbreak of cult-related violence during the annual masquerade festival in Orile-Iganmu, highlighting ongoing security concerns linked to rival cult activities in Lagos.
