The Osun State chapter of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) has announced a temporary suspension of its ongoing strike to enable staff of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) to participate in a scheduled meeting with commission officials.
In a statement released on Wednesday, JUSUN Chairman Comrade Idris Adedayo Adeniran said the strike relaxation, which runs from December 11 to 24, 2025, is subject to approval by the union’s Congress and national leadership.
The meeting, slated for December 11 at the High Court of Justice Conference Room in Osogbo, will focus on JUSUN’s demands regarding staff promotion and welfare.
The union confirmed that the Chief Judge of Osun State, Justice Adepele Bola Ojo, has agreed to reconvene discussions with the JSC to address the union’s concerns.
“We appreciate the commitment of the Honourable Chief Judge to engage with the JSC on our behalf and look forward to a positive outcome,” the statement read.
JUSUN emphasized that its demands remain legitimate, reasonable, and long overdue, and pledged to continue advocating for resolution until the issues are fully addressed.
The union also thanked its members for their loyalty, support, and resilience throughout the industrial action, which began on September 22, 2025, following a dispute with the Osun State Chief Judge.
