The Oyo State Fire Service has successfully rescued a man who fell into a deep well in Ibadan, the state capital.

The agency confirmed the incident in a statement released on Friday, signed by its Chairman, Hon. Maroof Akinwande.

According to the statement, the victim, approximately 38 years old, was trapped in a well at No. 1/184A, Ile-Epo Compound, Beere, Ibadan. He was safely retrieved and handed over to officers from the Mapo Police Division.

Akinwande noted that the emergency call was received by the fire service control room at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025. “Upon arrival, our officers quickly secured the necessary rescue equipment and ropes,” he said. “The man was successfully recovered and handed over to the police team for further assistance.”
