PDP Convention Set to Kick Off as Party Welcomes Governors, Delegates to Ibadan

The controversial national elective convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is set to kick off in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.

Delegates from across the country have already begun arriving at the convention venue. On its official Facebook page on Friday, the party welcomed “PDP Delegates, Governors, and Stakeholders for Historic National Elective Convention.”

According to the post, Ibadan, described as the political heartbeat of Southwestern Nigeria, “is fully prepared to host the PDP National Elective Convention, #Ibadan2025.”

The party quoted member Kehinde Ogunlana, saying:

“Ibadan is not just hosting a convention; we are hosting the future of Nigerian democracy. From the bus stops to the hotels, from the roads to the stadium, every detail has been meticulously planned. Ibadan is safe, Ibadan is ready, and Ibadan welcomes the PDP family with open arms.”

The convention is set to hold on November 15 and 16, despite a court order barring the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognizing its outcome.
