Peggy Ovire Denies Taye Arimoro’s N100M Claim, Calls Allegations ‘False’

Actress Peggy Ovire has rejected actor Taye Arimoro’s N100 million demand, denying his allegations of assault on a movie set.

Through her legal team, Peggy described Taye’s claims as “misleading, selective, and materially false,” insisting he twisted the events that occurred. The statement alleges that Taye confronted the Production Manager and head-butted Peggy’s driver, leaving him injured, while Peggy’s only physical contact was a light push after he allegedly tried to deflate her tyres.

Witnesses reportedly confirmed Taye’s aggressive behavior to the police. Peggy’s lawyers stated that any restraint applied to Taye was to prevent his escape before authorities arrived.

The legal team dismissed claims of mob action, broken jaw, harassment, or violence as fabricated, noting that the police and Actors Guild of Nigeria are investigating. They also warned that Peggy may file petitions for assault, defamation, and interference with production if necessary.

Peggy herself posted on Instagram: “My silence should not be taken for weakness… the truth will unfold.”
