PM Modi Hails Chhattisgarh’s Silver Jubilee as ‘A Golden Beginning in State’s Development Journey’

Raipur, Chhattisgarh: On the occasion of Chhattisgarh’s 25th state formation day, Prime Minister Narendra Modiextended warm greetings to the people of the state, describing the milestone as a “golden beginning” in the region’s journey of development. In a series of events in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar, PM Modi reflected on his long-standing connection with Chhattisgarh, the state’s transformation over the past quarter century, and the promise of rapid future growth.

Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister recalled his early days as a young worker in Chhattisgarh, highlighting how deeply intertwined his personal journey has been with the state’s progress. “For the past several decades, I have had a deep personal connection with this land. As a worker, I spent a lot of time in Chhattisgarh. The people of this place, this land, have been a great blessing in shaping my life. The vision of Chhattisgarh, the resolve for its creation, and the fulfillment of that resolve, all hold a special place in my heart,” PM Modi said.

The Prime Minister described the silver jubilee as both a personal and collective celebration. “Today’s day is a golden beginning for Chhattisgarh’s journey of development, and for me personally, it is a very joyful day, an important day. I have been a witness to every moment of Chhattisgarh’s transformation. And today, as Chhattisgarh reaches an important milestone in its 25-year journey, I have had the opportunity to be a participant in this moment as well,” he added.

Inauguration of New Assembly Building and Atal Bihari Vajpayee Statue

As part of the silver jubilee celebrations, PM Modi inaugurated the state’s new assembly building, a modern facility designed to support the legislative work and governance of Chhattisgarh. He also unveiled a statue of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, under whose leadership the state of Chhattisgarh was formed on November 1, 2000. Modi acknowledged Vajpayee’s pivotal role in the state’s creation, emphasizing that the establishment of Chhattisgarh marked a historic moment in India’s administrative and socio-political landscape.

On this silver jubilee celebration today, I have had the good fortune to inaugurate this new assembly for the people of the state. I extend my best wishes and congratulations to the people of Chhattisgarh and the state government on this occasion,” the Prime Minister said.

Following the legislative and commemorative inaugurations, PM Modi inaugurated ‘Shanti Shikhar’, a modern centre of Brahma Kumaris dedicated to spiritual learning, meditation, and the promotion of peace, in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar. Speaking at the inauguration, he lauded the Brahma Kumaris’ contribution to India’s broader vision of development. “In the Viksit Bharat (Developed India) movement, the role of Brahma Kumaris is important. I have been associated with them for years. I have observed your efforts with great seriousness,” he remarked.

Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister interacted with approximately 2,500 children who had been successfully treated for congenital heart diseases under the ‘Gift of Life’ programme at the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital, underscoring the government’s focus on healthcare and child welfare. The event highlighted the integration of modern medical initiatives with the state’s broader developmental agenda.

Honouring Tribal Freedom Fighters and Cultural Heritage

In addition to the assembly and spiritual centre inaugurations, PM Modi also inaugurated the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Memorial & Tribal Freedom Fighters Museum in Raipur.
