PM Modi Inaugurates Skyroot’s Infinity Campus in Hyderabad, Unveils Vikram-I Rocket

Hyderabad, November 27, 2025 – In a landmark event for India’s private space sector, Prime Minister Narendra Modiinaugurated the Infinity Campus of the Indian space start-up Skyroot in Hyderabad on Thursday via video conferencing. The ceremony also marked the unveiling of Skyroot’s first orbital rocket, Vikram-I, capable of deploying satellites into orbit, positioning India as a key player in the global space economy.

PM Modi also referenced India’s growing aviation sector, highlighting the inauguration of Safran Aircraft Engine Services’ new Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility in Hyderabad on Wednesday. The facility, located at the GMR Aerospace and Industrial Park, is set to become the largest engine MRO centre in India.

“The domestic aviation market in India has grown at an unprecedented pace, now ranking as the third-largest globally,” PM Modi said. He explained that historically, 85% of MRO work was conducted abroad, leading to higher costs and longer aircraft grounding periods. The new facility will localize high-value aviation services, reduce costs, and ensure quicker turnaround times for airlines.

PM Modi drew a connection between the space and aviation sectors, noting that developments in private aerospace, including Skyroot’s Infinity Campus, will further empower India’s youth to enter high-tech industries and contribute to the nation’s scientific and industrial advancement.
