Raipur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to attend the silver jubilee celebrations of Chhattisgarh State Foundation Day, marking 25 years since the state’s formation, officials announced on Saturday. The event, known as Rajyotsav 2025, will highlight the state’s progress and achievements since its creation on November 1, 2000.
According to government sources, PM Modi is scheduled to arrive in Raipur on the evening of October 31 and will stay overnight in the state capital before participating in a series of key events the following day. Five major programmes have been lined up across Raipur as part of the Prime Minister’s visit, reflecting the significance of this landmark celebration.
On November 1, the Prime Minister will interact with 2,500 children at the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital, an event aimed at highlighting the government’s commitment to child health and welfare. He will also inaugurate the new building of the Prajapita Brahma Kumaris organisation, underscoring the importance of spiritual and social development initiatives in the state. In addition, PM Modi will dedicate the newly constructed Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly building, a symbol of the state’s democratic progress, and inaugurate the Tribal Museum, which celebrates the heritage and culture of the state’s tribal communities.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai described the Prime Minister’s visit as a matter of immense pride for the people of Chhattisgarh. “On November 1, Chhattisgarh will complete 25 glorious years of its formation. This Silver Jubilee year is a celebration of the state’s achievements and progress,” Sai said, emphasizing the significance of the milestone for citizens and government alike.
Highlighting the coordinated efforts between the Centre and the state government in tackling Maoist extremism, Sai noted that the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have shown strong resolve in the fight against Naxalism. He pointed to the state’s effective rehabilitation policy, which has encouraged a steady rise in Maoist surrenders, saying that the Prime Minister’s visit will further strengthen the spirit of development, trust, and renewed energy in Chhattisgarh.
Officials said detailed arrangements are being made for the Prime Minister’s programmes, which are expected to witness large participation from citizens, marking a grand celebration of Chhattisgarh’s journey over the past 25 years.
